At this detached home in Denton the driveway was block paved, and had reached the stage most block drives get to eventually — settled in patches and weathered unevenly right across the frontage.
A lift-and-relay only puts the same blocks back down again, so the whole driveway came out instead. The area was dug down to a clean formation, a fresh stone sub-base laid and compacted, and only then was the resin mixed and trowelled over the top — from the road up to the garage and round to the front door.
The surface is Daltex Rosegarden, a warm red-and-amber blend that sits naturally against red brick. It is a UV-stable resin, so the colour holds instead of ambering off in sunlight the way a standard resin can. Charcoal block borders and a block apron at the road edge finish the boundaries.
